Durer....

Just sitting here looking at old Durer prints from the Middle Ages and realising that he probably would have not as gotten has much done or do such elaborate engravings if he too had access to Youtube on his computer......but then again there would have been a lot less funny animal and old MTV videos back then so it even s out then............
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Bon.

Okay, trying something new here. I'm going to get a little more interactive with y'all.I 'm going to start up a favorites section. Every month I ask y'all about some of your favorite stuff is and y'all give your answers in the comments section so we get to see all your answers. Hope y'all play along with me.

This month: Favorite summer songs. You know, those songs that only sound right in summer, or remind of that special summer trip or special summer fling or just reminds you of summer. you can list one, or two or as many as you like. And if y'all got a little story for it than all the better. Here's mine:

1-Long cool woman in a black dress (The Hollies):
I remember this playing off my older sister and brother's 8 track when I was a kid. It reminds me off warm, muggy nights, mini putt and being 5 years old.

2-Samba Pa Ti (Santana):
The ULTIMATE summer "slow dance" song. You can almost here the crickets on a hot July night by the cottage by the lake. And the young couples in behind the bushes. Enough said......

3- Summer Breeze (Seals and Crofts):
Man, this got me thru a boatload of cold , dreary winter nights. It just oozes with a warm feeling of a long lost summer.....

4- Man on the Moon/Night Swimming /Find the river (REM)
The last three songs off "Automatic for the People" and possibly the best songs ever written by REM. Nothing represents, to me, the slow, melancholic demise of summer like these. Listen to them at the end of August, in the evening as the first chill settles in. If possible, do it by an camping fire near a lake and a full moon with a beverage in hand.....

Okay guys your turn.....

19th week-19ieme semaine

Okay. How are my Swedish lessons going? You know the movie "The 13th warrior"? Set in the Middle Ages, Anthonio Banderas plays a Muslim prince who must travel with 12 Viking warriors to kill of a bunch of mythological nasties. Well you know that scene where over the course of the trip back to Vikingland he learns the Norse language just by listening to it? Well. IT*S A FRIGGING LOAD OF BOLLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides that. summer is here. It's 30 degrees. Beaches are open, strawberries are fresh from the field, school is finished and the graduates are partying. I had a day off on wednesday, Swedish National Day.

Well, I'm off to the beach to eat some berries and watcha bunch of overjoyous teens!
----------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------
FÅTÖLJ!

This mess of a mouthful is the bastardization of the french word "fauteuil" which means a over stuffed sofa chair that sits in the living room surrounded by old IKEA catalogues and overpriced American fashion magazines

KOCKDUELL!

Okay, I'm a couple of days late with this one. Damn you beautiful sunshiny days.....

Yes, once again another infantile play of words on English body parts name. Wadaya wants here, Yeats? James Joyce? Eh. Boys will be boys....

Get your minds out of the gutters, ladies and gents, it doesn't mean that. Nor is it rooster fighting. It means a duel of cooking chefs, like what they had last week at "Smaka pö Stockholm!" or if you prefer "Taste of Stockholm".. It's the annual summer food fest they have in the downtown core.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Kockduell!

Bon!

WOO HOO!!!!

Premières fraises Suèdoises de la saison! Miam! L'été s'en vient!

First Swedish Strawberries of the Season! WooHoo. Summer is nearly here!

Week 18- Semaine 18

Arrrgh! Somebody get me a babelfish! My Swedish classes are going okay but I really am not getting the listening part of it. I can read it, I can write it, I can speak it but when somebody speaks to me it's comes in all shugi-shugi-shugi........frustrating.

It's been an incredibly grey, cold, foggy and rainy week. It felt more like March than May.

Sorry for not posting the Malmö-Copenhagen stuff yet. Will do that a little bit later. Been a little busy with my courses and there was the spring market in the town center last weekend and it was my wedding anniversary tuesday! 8 years! Seems like just 3 or 4....(the wife is going to kill me for that one)
...............................
BARNAK!
